Pop Art as they call it!
A little that I have learnt about this category of art is that
- It generally reflects a celebrity
- it is done with solid colors without shading
- apparently the outlines within the painting is rather vague but when viewed in totality (preferably with squeezed eye) the overall image gives a photo finish and the impact is astounding.

Mystery Girl
During my posting in Delhi for over 4 years, I had this wallpaper on my office PC, Out of millions of free wallpapers available on the net, somehow i got fascinated by this image. May be it was the mystery behind the mood. Is it ecstasy or melancholy. It remained on my desktop for a few years,
The i thought i should capture her same mood on my canvas once again without deciphering it. The one above is a camera photograph and the following one is my painting.

MODALISA
Monalisa by Leonardo DV is said to be the most talked about painting in the world. She is a global icon. All kinds of myths float around the the female as well as mystery behind her (sly) smile. To be honest, I was rather disappointed to see the original piece in the Paris museum more so coz i spent a good amount of money for reaching there by taxi. The 500 year old original didn't cast a lasting impression on my mind may be out of my artistic immaturity. But i think i am not the lone guy in this world. When TS Eliot called Hamlet "the Mona Lisa of literature" he meant it in a negative sense: that the play was no longer seen for what it was, but had become, I still remember the name of that museum as it sounded like an obscene hindi word and such things for me are herd to forget. Like a particular model of Skoda car now available in India,
The pic below is cropped version of the original masterpiece. Take a good look at it. Its not the one I have painted but take a good admiring look at it.
Then this painting of modern Monalisa I came across on the net and was impressed with the idea how 20 squares together formed an image of the original masterpiece.
